At the end of each fiscal year, the IHDHoF foundation -- which is made up
Lanse, Jimmie, Vicki & Edie -- meet and determine who will receive grants from
monies processed during that year.
IHDHoF contributes monies to various areas of the country for the express
purpose of securing and maintaining grounds for hunting dog activities, training
and events, and upkeep of new "dog" areas.
The Hunting Land- Lanse is presently working with realtors in
Southern Missouri. There are many ideal pieces of property 400-800
acres which would lend themselves to coon hunts, retriever grand master
nationals, bird dog nationals, beagle nationals and any other national
competition that involves hunting dogs.
A tentative commitment from a 30 year employee of the Missouri Department of
Conservation has been made which would provide an on-site manager who not only
would live there, but also manage the fields, water and woods. To be a veteran
of the Missouri Department of Conservation could be of political help.
So where do we go from here?
Each inductee’s fee will go directly to provide funds for land acquisition.
Once the land has been purchased the maintenance costs and taxes will be
paid by the event guide club.
All funds thereafter will be used for veterinary research grants.
We also support grants to National Schools of Veterinary
Medicine for research of cancer, thyroid, bloat, dysplasia, cardio myopathy,
muscular myopathy and other diseases or conditions that affect hunting dogs.
