As
farmland is increasingly being converted to developments, as bureaucrats
continue to increase their involvement with various state and federal Fish and
Wildlife Departments -dog training land is shrinking.
As federal budgetary cuts are imposed, many organizations are
losing grants and funding for research -- the veterinary medicine field is
included in this loss.
It was with the realization of the foregoing that the IHDHoF was
created.
Hunting and hunting dogs, field trials and field trial dogs have been my
life since a young boy growing up – for the past 55 years I have been a duck
hunter, for the past 45 years I have trained field trial dogs and competed in
retriever field trials. Having had a successful business career- Wall Street,
Coca-Cola Company in Montana,
Incense Manufacturer in Montana I
have assured that monetarily my wife and myself are set for the remainder of our
natural lives.
Now what can I do to return something to the world of dogs –
hunting dogs and trial dogs?
It was with this rhetorical question that I conceived the organization of
the International Hunting Dog Hall of Fame.
The
International Hunting Dog Hall of Fame's goal is to provide a permanent record
and give recognition to any hunting dog of all breeds by honoring them
by having their name and date of recognition engraved on a brick and placed in
the Walk of Fame at Black Gold Dog Food in Vienna Mo.
IHDHoF was
established to honor hunting dogs, including unregistered dogs who have
great hunting skills. We provide a special way for those with awesome
hunting dogs to have their dogs name written in stone forever telling the world
of the awesome hunting abilities and give them the honor they deserve.
A good dog makes hunting a
more pleasurable experience. Whether it is to point, flush, tree, catch or to
retrieve, nothing surpasses the experience of hunting with a fine, capable
hunting dog.
